Seedance 2.5 vs Seedance 2.0: what changed, and what each costs per second

ByteDance's newest Seedance against the 2.0 family: what each costs per second, how long a clip can be, and what you can give it.

The short answer

  • Seedance 2.5 makes clips of up to 30 seconds, twice 2.0's 15, takes up to 30 reference images instead of 9, and can work from a video. On Revana it is $0.11, $0.25 and $0.55 a second at 480p, 720p and 1080p, and less when you give it a video: $0.15 at 720p.
  • Seedance 2.0 is $0.15 a second at 720p and the only one that goes to 4K, at $0.83. Its 720p price is the lowest we found for it, 1% below ByteDance's own API.
  • Seedance 2.0 Fast and Mini stop at 720p and cost $0.11 and $0.05 a second there, for drafts and volume.
  • All four make sound with the picture and take the same request; change the model field. Every price is on the pricing page and every model in the catalogue.

Which one to use

Use Seedance 2.5 when a shot runs past 15 seconds, when it has to follow a reference video, or when many reference images must stay consistent. Use Seedance 2.0 for 15 second shots at 720p, where it costs less than 2.5, and for 4K. Use 2.0 Fast or Mini to try prompts cheaply before the final render.
